Please sit back and relax while you read this, since we do have alot to go through.
EDIT: I will change names of the sales reps.
I came into the Prouds store at Earlville with my friend Brodie to pick out an engagement ring for my partner.
My first interaction was with a sales representative named L Nice enough guy, seemed fairly new but was happy to help. As we went through some rings, I explained to them that her ring finger size was going to be quite small as she is a very small girl. L explained to me that they could only resize upto 2 sizes, anything beyond that would require a special order, however only items in the catalogue could be special ordered; yep no worries.
So picked out a ring I liked, asked L is this in the catalogue? Also is there any extra fee for a special order in her size? L said yes, it is in the catalogue and no it does not require any extra funds to have it special ordered.
While I was waiting for the ring to be cleaned, I was looking through the catalogue and noticed the ring I picked wasn't in there, so I asked L again, is this ring in the catalogue? He then scanned the barcode on the ring and said yes it is. When we went upto the register, I was speaking to a lady named M and asking her about the process of special ordering, she explained it is about 8-10 weeks to process, I also asked her again if it was to cost any extra to have it ordered into her size and she said no.
Satisfied that I had made the right decision, I went on my way. The next day I proposed to my partner, she said yes.
The day after that, we went into Prouds to have her size measured (22/09/20). M was also serving us that day. As expected, she was over 3 sizes too small for the ring. M looked up the ring in the system and said, this ring is listed as inactive and cannot be special ordered, it will have to be remade and will cost $199. I said to her, I was told by yourself and L 3 times that special order won't be a problem and will not cost any extra. She said yes I know but the computer system hasn't been updated. I said well that's hardly my problem, I reconfirmed 3 times that it wouldn't be an issue and it wouldn't cost any extra and you confirmed that. I then asked if there was any discount that can be given and she said no. I said well I want a refund and go somewhere else and that's what I did.
Throughout this whole experience, not once I never once was apologised too from M or the store manager, M and the store manager was quite rude, and seemed to want me out of their hair and at all stages of the conversation I was firm but polite. We weren't even congratulated for the engagement.
The money was never the issue, its the principal, and the customer service. Despite the amount of times I had asked, I was always told that it would not cost extra.
I will not shop at any Prouds store again

I carot diamond was resize and flew off my hand

How about if you just got the ring and the resize ring flew off your hand and landed on concrete and cracked the diamond. Does the care plan cover that? It’s less than a few hours old and it’s my engagement ring. In tears. It’s a one Carrot diamond.

Bought an online chain for my daughter…

Bought an online chain for my daughter SOLID 9CT GOLD, 50CM OVAL CURB CHAIN which in the photo appeared to be approximately 3mm thick. The actual image displayed on my computer screen with a standard 1920x1080 screen resolution was a 1.0cm width displaying a very decent quality chain. The chain in actual fact is 1mm thickness. It was a shocking surprise to say the least.
The image has been severely magnified to show a high quality decent thick chain. And what arrives in the mail is something you could accidently snap whilst trying to put it on.
What is worse, $164!! for the smallest flimsiest chain ever. What a rip off. Disappointed in you Prouds for your deceptive approach to online sales.

Terrible Returns Policy!

The returns policy at Prouds is absolutely despicable. I purchased a silver chain for my husband for his birthday, a few days later I took it back as I realised that the one I got was much larger than what he usually wears. I was told No change of mind, you can have a voucher for $150, I don’t want a bloody voucher! I want my money back. I was not informed of the returns policy when I purchased the chain because if I was I would never of bought from there. You should be able to at least change your mind up to 7 days especially if the item hasn’t been worn!
Disgusting!

I went to Prouds the Jewelers in…Maddington

I went to Prouds the Jewelers in Maddington today, the intention being to buy some pearls and a jewlery box for valentines day not a huge spend maybe $200-$300 or so, when I walked in the shop was deserted, just several girls behind the counter, I walked to the jewelery box display and stood there looking a lady walked over and stood in front of me with her back turned to me and appeared to be filing something away.
At no stage did I get a greeting of any kind after a couple of minutes of being ignored in the empty shop, I heard a voice ask if I needed any help!! silly question really!!
I replyed that I would shop somewhere else where the staff were not too busy to serve me, I left the still deserted shop and I shall purchase somewhere else, perhaps I should have worn my business suit?? my polo shirt and shorts obviously indicated that I was not worth dealing with and couldn't afford to buy anyway!!!
Considering your shop was empty, this is a very sad indication of the quality of your staff and the customer service that you should be offering
don't forget I am profit that just walked out of the door and bought with your competition!

Scam jewellers, avoid

This chain ‘jeweller’ are the biggest scammers I’ve ever experienced in retail. It seems like Sales assistants are trained to lie about products, as unless the conversation is recorded, there is no proof that customers are purchasing what is promised. Here are two examples that have happened in the past year. (1) As a 40th birthday gift, my husband purchased a gold bracelet and was reassured by the sales assistant that it was high quality and for every day wear. We were even encouraged to purchase charms for it. It broke within two weeks and when returning it to the store, was told that it is not for every day wear. I called head office and they must expect complaint callers, my query was dealt with rudely and dismissively. The manager even lied, suggesting that they knew I wore the bracelet to do manual work every day and that is why it had broken. I am an academic and work from home. Fortunately, we received some legal help, our argument was evidenced and after months of deliberation, they begrudgingly gave us a credit note. Every time we left the store after seeking loss, we’d turn around to see the sales assistants, manager and deputy manager, laugh behind our back. Sadly, I also had to go to other Prouds stores in Hobart to redeem my credit note, the service was equally unprofessional. 2) My close friend purchased what was assured as ‘diamond’ stud earrings when in fact, they were CZ. She paid natural diamond prices for what ended up being synthetic.

I give no stars if I could

I give no stars if I could. I went to Blacktown and got my engagement ring sized, we were served by a muppet called Sue. She messed up the payment 3 times and took an hour for something that should have taken 10 mins. We sent the ring away as I tried on a size O and I needed smaller. 3 weeks later my ring arrives and I noticed after I was proposed to that I had an O not the N I waited for. I called Blacktown and they said we asked for an size O. WHY WOULD I SEND A SIZE O AWAY FOR ANOTHER O? I THEN WENT to nepean and told them. The ring was sent away again. I have the ring back and it still doesn't fit. 3 time lucky. They are a bunch of Morons and ruined everything for me my partner . . . I'm still dealing with this issue a month later.

Sent my bracelet away 3 times for repair

Sent my bracelet away 3 times for repair on the finals. The first time the finals were not built and the chain was only repaired. The second time it was sent away only one of the sides were fixed when the manager checked over the bracelet claiming it was “fixed” when you could clearly see one side had not been touched. I have now sent the bracelet away for the third time, I was told that it would be ready today 18/12/20 and it was only sent away for repair yesterday. Really unimpressed, I wanted the bracelet fixed for my birthday as a gift to myself. Really unimpressed. Won’t be sending any of my jewellery away for repair through Prouds Brookside again; what a disappointment.

I purchased a gold and diamond ring…

I purchased a gold and diamond ring from proud and notices a stone was missing when arrived home, I took the ring back to Forster prouds and the lady actually confirmed that there were 2 small diamonds missing. I asked for a refund and the lady Cath told me she won’t give a refund as they only give refunds if there was a flaw, I asked if 2 diamond are missing it’s not a flaw!! I asked her to call head office which she did and came out and said the ring has to be sent away to make sure I didn’t wear it and knock the diamonds out, I tried to explain that I removed it from the box and noticed they were missing and put it back!! I repeated that I wanted a refund, I was getting very irritated with this woman by now and she told her offsider Megan to call security!! I asked for head offices ph number and she told me to look it up myself!! I returned to Brisbane, explained the situation to the prouds lot at browns plains, guess what, they wouldn’t give a refund and basically told me to choose another ring!! I was by this time so frustrated I just took another ring and walked out!! Never again will they get any money from me or my family!! They are so lovely and sweet when they’re taking your money but giving it back is a big noooo!!

Replacement engagement ring without informing me

My fiancé had purchased an engagement ring from the Hypodome store, been engaged since January so been wearing the ring since then. Middle of October I noticed the middle diamond and a claw had fallen out. Taken the ring to Coomera to get replaced. I was told it would take 6 weeks to get fixed. With endless phone calls about what needs to be done they had finally sent the ring off to head office to get accessed even though I had purchased a care plan. Spoke to someone on the phone and she told me that the ring is out of the manufactures warranty so it cannot just be replaced only repaired. Fast forward to today 23/11/20 I had rung the Coomera store as I have not heard anything turns out they had my ring waiting to be picked up even though they reckon they called me and left voicemails (I have proof of no voicemails) turns out they had just replaced the ring without my approval to do so which is very concerning?? So after being lied to about just replacing the ring I am now left with an engagement ring with no sentimental value???
NOT HAPPY!!!
I will never be buying anything from Prouds again!!
